An ace from Rachel Kilkelly and a block from Booth and Landfair put the Gophers up 11-9. After another TCU point, a 7-2 Gophers run gave the visitors a match-high six point lead at 18-12. Wenaas, Booth and Landfair had kills in the spurt while CC McGraw tallied an ace. TCU cut the lead to as few as four before Ellie Husemann notched two kills to put the Gophers up 21-15. TCU took a 15-14 lead into the television timeout. Kills from Booth and Shaffmaster combined with an attacking error by TCU gave the Gophers a 17-15 lead out of the break. The Horned Frogs would come back to tie the set up at 17, 18 and 19 before a 4-1 run gave the Gophers a 23-20 lead, forcing a timeout from the home team. Two Landfair kills and an attacking error from TCU spurred the run. The Gophers would close out the set, 25-20, to go up 2-0.

Set 3: The two teams went back and forth for the first six points before a 4-0 Gophers run gave the 'U' a 7-3 lead.
