MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Minnesota women's golf team had three of its student-athletes named Big Ten Golfers to Watch, the Big Ten announced on Wednesday afternoon. The announcement of the honorees comes just under two weeks before the Annika Intercollegiate on Sept. 12-13.

41 women's college golfers from 14 different schools were named Big Ten Preseason Honorees.

The three Gopher nominees are seniors Emma Carpenter and Grace Curran, as well as freshman Isabella McCauley. All three of the nominees earn the honors for the first time.

Carpenter enters her fourth season in the Maroon and Gold after posting a 76.32 round score average last season. She finished T-10th at the Valspar Augusta Invitational in March, which set a new career-best tournament finish. The Dekalb, Ill. native adds this honor to a summer in which she earned Academic All-Big Ten, WGCA Academic All-American and Big Ten Distinguished Scholar honors.

Entering her senior campaign, Curran carries momentum that generated three top 20 finishes last season. She finished T-13th at the Pat Bradley Invitational in October. Curran also earned Academic All-Big Ten and WGCA Academic All-American honors this summer.

McCauley finds her name on the list heading into her first season at the University of Minnesota. On June 13 she was named 2022 Ms. Minnesota Golf, and then followed it up three days later by finishing in second place at the Class AAA Minnesota State Golf tournament.
