Minnesota in Ninth After Two Rounds at Gopher Invitational

MINNEAPOLIS – Seniors Antoine Sale and Harrison Arnold led the way for the University of Minnesota men's golf team through the first two rounds of the Gopher Invitational, finishing with two-round scores of 138 (four-under par) and 141 (one-under par), respectively.
As a team, the Gophers sit in ninth place after the first day of competition. The Maroon and Gold started the day with a combined first-round score of three-under par (281) and ended the day with a second-round score of one-under par (281). Their total score of 564 puts them back 11 strokes of leading Rutgers.
Notable:
Sale is in a tie for ninth place after two rounds of play, as his five second-round birdies and two first-round birdies secured his spot in the top 10.
Arnold finishes the day with two total birdies and just one bogey. He sits in a tie for 33rd heading into the third and final round.
Senior Jacob Pedersen also finished in a tie for 33rd, as he ended the day with a score of one-under par in his first two rounds as a Gopher.
In his first two rounds of college golf, freshman Jack Wetzel finished with a combined score of three-over par (175).
Junior Ben Warian rounded out Minnesota's lineup with a combined score of five-over par (146).
