Freshman Luisamariana Mesones Earns B1G Golfer of the Week Honors

MINNEAPOLIS – Luisamariana Mesones received Golfer of the Week honors from the Big Ten Conference following her placement as the runner-up in the Lady Paladin Invitational.
The freshman earned this recognition following just her second collegiate tournament, tying for second with a three-round score of 75-70-64—209. Her third-round score of 64 broke the Gopher women's 18-hole record while her two-round score of 134 broke the women's 36-hole record for the University of Minnesota.
In her historic third-round, Mariana collected eight birdies, finishing the Lady Paladin Invitational with a grand total of fourteen.
Mesones and the Maroon and Gold are already back in action at the Evie Odom Invitational which is set to continue this weekend whenever weather permits.
