Four prominent Maroon and Gold alumni return to Ridder Arena for Minnesota's final exhibition contest at 6:00 PM on Friday.

MINNEAPOLIS – The No. 2 Golden Gopher women's hockey team is slated for one final tune-up before the 2022-23 season gets underway as the Minnesota Whitecaps come to town. Friday's exhibition matchup will take place at 6:00 p.m. at Ridder Arena and will be free admission.

Familiar Faces Returning to Ridder
Four former Gophers will be returning to their former stomping ground as Sydney Baldwin, Olivia Knowles, Patti Marshall and Amanda Leveille are among 21 on the Minnesota Whitecaps roster for the 2022-23 season. The last time the Gophers hosted the Whitecaps, the Maroon and Gold cruised to a 5-1 victory behind goals from Taylor Heise and Grace Zumwinkle in 2019.

Last Time Out
Last Saturday, Minnesota defeated the University of Manitoba 13-0 in the first of its two preseason exhibition contests. Fifth-year forward Grace Zumwinkle tallied a hat-trick in her return to the Maroon and Gold lineup as one ten different players to tally a goal. In total, 18 skaters found the stat sheet with nine of them recording multiple points. The Gophers outshot the Bisons 65-10.
