Minnesota Falls 4-0 to Oklahoma in the First Round of the ITA Kick Off

The Gophers drop the spring season opener 4-0 to University of Oklahoma in Norman, Okla.
Norman, Okla. – The University of Minnesota tennis program fell 4-0 to University of Oklahoma in the launch of the 2023 spring season at the ITA Kick Off event. The Golden Gophers traveled to Norman, Okla., with five student-athletes.
The Maroon and Gold pairing of Anet Koskel and Lucy Lu were defeated 2-6 by duo Carmen Corley and Ivana Corley, securing point No. 1 with the win. Following doubles play, five Minnesota players competed against five Oklahoma players. Oklahoma automatically took the second point as a result of the Gophers only having five of the six necessary singles players. Anet Koskel lost 0-6, 1-6 to Carmen Corley, who secured No. 3 in the first singles match. Oklahoma claimed No. 4 to close out the first round of the tournament following Zoey Weil's 1-6, 2-6 loss to Sooners player Layne Sleeth.
