MINNEAPOLIS - University of Minnesota head tennis coach Lois Arterberry announced the signing of Kamea Medora to the Golden Gophers' 2026-27 roster. Medora, a native of Hauula, Hawaii, will join the Maroon and Gold after one season at the University of Utah and two seasons with the University of Louisiana.

"We are excited to add Kamea to the team," Arterberry said. "She brings a ton of energy and passion through the love she has for the sport. Kamea is a hard worker, is dedicated and determined to continue to grow and get better everyday. She is a team player and a valuable asset for the direction that we are moving the programs."

As a junior with Utah, Medora went 3-7 in singles and 7-14 in doubles. At Louisiana, Medora went 9-10 in singles and 14-7 in doubles. As a sophomore with the Ragin' Cajuns, Medora finished 7-4 in singles and 8-4 in doubles. As a freshman in the 2023-24 season, Medora opened her collegiate career with a 2-6 singles record and 5-3 in doubles play.

As a prep athlete, Medora competed on the USTA and ITF circuits both in the United States and internationally. She was ranked No. 1 in multiple age divisions in Hawaii, reaching as high as No. 10 nationally.

"Minnesota stood out to me because it felt like a program built on toughness, passion, and family, three things that define who I am," Medora said. "I've taken an unconventional path to get here, and I wanted to be somewhere that would push me to become the best version of myself, on and off the court.

"Competing in the Big Ten and representing a school with such a strong culture made the decision easy. I'm excited to bring my energy, competitiveness, and personality to Minnesota tennis."
