Vetter, Bouveng Named WCHA Weekly Award Winners

Skylar Vetter earns her sixth WCHA Goaltender of the Week honor this season.
MINNEAPOLIS – Sophomore goaltender Skylar Vetter and freshman forward Josefin Bouveng have been named WCHA weekly award winners on Monday afternoon after a series sweep at No. 6 Minnesota Duluth.
Skylar Vetter earned her sixth WCHA Goaltender of the Week award this season after stopping 55/59 shots this weekend in a pair of road victories over No. 6 Minnesota Duluth. Vetter made 31 saves in a 3-1 win on Friday and topped it off with 24 stops in a 4-3 victory on Saturday. The Lakeville, Minn., native has won 11-straight starts to improve her record to 19-3-2 with a 1.71 GAA and a .927 Sv%.Â
Josefin Bouveng was named WCHA Rookie of the Week for the first time in her career after recording a goal and an assist over the weekend. Bouveng's multi-point game on Saturday was the third of her career. The Vassunda, Sweden native ranks first among Gopher rookies in scoring (9g-6a) this season and has scored a goal in each of the last four WCHA series.
