MINNEAPOLIS - Ben Warian and Bennett Swavely set career bests in their first round of the Quail Valley Invitational Sunday in Vero Beach, Fla.

The Gophers stand in a tie for eighth place with Big Ten foe Rutgers at 14-under par (276-286-562).

South Florida and Toledo are knotted at the top of the team leaderboard with a score of 28-under par. Toledo's Palmer Yenrick has a two-shot lead on the field at 14-under par.

Notable:
Warian nabbed a bogey-free, 8-under 64 in his first round, setting a career best for the Gopher senior. His first round of 64 puts him in a tie for third all-time for lowest 18 hole rounds in program history, and it was the lowest round for a Gopher since Thomas Longbella's 63 in Nov. of 2016. With an even-par 72 in the second round, Warian currently sits in a tie for eighth place after 36 holes.

Swavley tallied nine birdies and an eagle on the par-five seventh hole en route to his lowest round as a Gopher (67). With a 70 in round two, he is in a tie for 10th place at 7-under.

Graduate senior Jacob Pedersen (72-75) finds himself in a tie for 68th, while fellow graduate senior Brock Winter (77-72) sits two shots back of Pedersen tied for 74th. Junior Gavin Hagstrom (70-80) ended the first day in 77th.
