Murphy Named WCHA Forward of the Month

MINNEAPOLIS – Redshirt junior Abbey Murphy has been named November's WCHA Forward of the Month by the conference Thursday morning.
Abbey Murphy is named WCHA Forward of the Month for the second time in her career, with the first time coming in October of 2022. Murphy tallied six goals and three assists this November, acting as a catalyst behind the Minnesota offense. The Evergreen Park, Ill. native recorded two powerplay goals, one short-handed goal and one game-winning goal across the Gophers' six November wins.
Murphy scored career goal No. 50 in a 3-1 win against Harvard on Nov. 24, one of three goals she scored over the weekend in Washington, D.C. Murphy currently leads the nation in goals per game, averaging 1.15 goals per contest after finding the net 15 times through Minnesota's first 13 games.
