Gophers Announce 2024 Spring Tennis Schedule

MINNEAPOLIS - Today, the University of Minnesota tennis program released its schedule for the upcoming 2024 spring season. The Gophers will open with twelve non-conference matches beginning in January before kicking off Big Ten play in early March.
The Maroon and Gold will start their spring on Jan. 20 at Baseline Tennis Center against Marquette and Lindenwood. They will then follow with four more home matches: vs North Dakota and Creighton on Jan. 26, and then vs South Dakota and St. Thomas on Feb. 10.
The team will then be on the road for four consecutive matches over two consecutive weekends: Feb. 17 at Oregon and Feb. 18 at Boise, then Feb. 23 at Memphis and Feb. 24 at Utah. On March 3, the Gophers return home to face Denver, and then round out their non-conference schedule against the University of Pennsylvania from March 4-6 at IMG Academy in Florida.
Minnesota opens Big Ten conference play on March 9 with a trip to Indiana. The team then travels to face Purdue on March 10, then to Wisconsin on March 16. The Gophers return home to take on Nebraska on March 29, then Iowa on March 31.
The final month of the regular season begins with the team traveling to Illinois on April 5. The Gophers then go on a three-week home stretch: vs Northwestern on April 7, vs Michigan State on April 12, and vs Michigan on April 14. The Big Ten regular season wraps up with two road matches: at Maryland on April 19 and at Rutgers on April 21.
The Big Ten Championships run from April 24-28, hosted by Michigan. Those that qualify in this tournament will then be sent to the NCAA Championships from May 16-25, hosted by Baylor, which will conclude the 2023-24 season.
This 2024 spring season will see head coach Lois Arterberry and assistant coach Anastasia Pennington make their Big Ten coaching debuts.
