Week 3: Nektons of the Week Announced

Ashton Beers, Justin Walley and Sean Tyler receive weekly honor
University of Minnesota football coach P.J. Fleck announced the team's Nektons of the Week today. The Gophers just completed their third week of offseason workouts and Ashton Beers (offensive), Justin Walley (defensive) and Sean Tyler (newcomer) received the weekly honors.
Beers, an offensive lineman, redshirted in 2022 and did not see any game action.
Walley started all 13 games and made 39 tackles (28 solo). He also had three interceptions, broke up two passes, forced one fumble and recovered one fumble.
Tyler enrolled at Minnesota in January 2023 and has one season of eligibility with the Gophers. He spent four seasons at Western Michigan where he played from 2019-22 and rushed 495 times for 2,820 yards (5.7 avg.) and 23 touchdowns. He also caught 43 passes for 338 yards and three scores in 42 career games with the Broncos and averaged 23.9 yards on 40 kickoff returns and brought three back for touchdowns
