18 Gophers Receive WCHA All-Academic Team Honors

Minnesota tops last year's total of 15.
MINNEAPOLIS – 18 Golden Gopher women's hockey players are among the 129 student-athletes selected as 2022-23 WCHA All-Academic Team honorees; the conference announced Tuesday.
Abigail Boreen, Taylor Heise, Peyton Hemp, Crystalyn Hengler, Ella Huber, Olivia King, Sadie Lindsay, Abbey Murphy, Maggie Nicholson, Savannah Norcross, Emily Oden, Gracie Ostertag, Catie Skaja, Skylar Vetter, Audrey Wethington, Madeline Wethington, Emily Zumwinkle and Grace Zumwinkle round out the list of Golden Gopher honorees.
Representing all eight WCHA member institutions, the WCHA All-Academic Team includes student-athletes who have completed one year of eligibility at their present institution, prior to the academic year, and have a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in the previous two semesters or three quarters.
Heise, Oden, Ostertag, Skaja and Grace Zumwinkle lead all Gophers as four-time honorees. Boreen, Hengler, King and Madeline Wethington each earn their third honors. Two-time winners include Nicholson and Audrey Wethington with Hemp, Huber, Lindsay, Murphy, Norcross, Vetter and Emily Zumwinkle receiving their first WCHA All-Academic honor.
The WCHA All-Academic Team is collected with the help of the Faculty Athletic Representative from each of the member institutions.
