Heise Wins Second-Straight WCHA Forward of the Year

Fifth-year forward Taylor Heise leads the WCHA in points (62) and goals (29).
MINNEAPOLIS – Fifth-year forward Taylor Heise has been named WCHA Forward of the Year for the second-consecutive season after leading the conference in points and goals.
After being named WCHA Preseason Player of the Year, Heise delivered with another monster season. Minnesota's captain has tallied a conference-leading 62 points and 29 goals (matching a career-high). In conference play, Heise led the way with 51 points and 19 goals in 28 games. The Lake City, Minn., native was named HCA National Player of the Month in December and WCHA Forward of the Month in February. Heise was named to the All-WCHA First Team for the second-consecutive season to cap off her second-straight 60-point season. She is the first Gopher since Hannah Brandt and Dani Cameranesi to record back-to-back 60-point seasons. In addition to points and goals, Heise also led the conference in shorthanded goals (4) and hat tricks (2) and ranked third in power-play goals (7). She was named WCHA Forward of the Week four separate times this season.
Heise is also a finalist for WCHA Player of the Year, which will be announced on Thursday, March 2.
