U Finishes in Ninth at the Big Ten Championship

Freshman Isabella McCauley tied for second place
PITTSBURGH, PA. - The University of Minnesota women's golf team finished the final round of the Big Ten Championship today. The Gophers moved up four places into ninth shooting a team tournament-best 298 and a three-day total of 902 (+50).
Illinois finished on top earning the B1G title shooting 865 (+3) edging out Northwestern by three strokes.

Bella's game this week was remarkable and this feat for a freshman is amazing," said head coach Rhyll Brinsmead. "I'm proud of the way the team pushed even though we know we didn't have our best. We now wait to see if we've earned a postseason bid"
Notable:
Isabella McCauley earned her highest career finish in a tie for second after shooting a 68 (-3) to move forward six places in the rankings. The freshman carded 71-74-68=213 (E) over the three days.
Grace Curran shot her best round of the tournament today with a 2-over-par 73. She notched 29 pars and six birdies across the tournament scoring 76-81-73=230 (+17).
Luisamariana Mesones shot a 9-over-par 80 in the final round today. She had a three-round score of 77-75-80=232 (+19) and ended the event tied for 52nd.
Senior Leah Herzog finished her final Big Ten Championship in a tie for 65th. Herzog totaled 34 pars which were tied for the 12th most and had a final score of 77-77-81= 235 (+22).
Junrui Chi continued to show improvement and rolled home six pars and four birdies in her final 18 today. She finished alongside teammate Herzog in a tie for 65th scoring 80-78-77= 235 (+22)
Emma Carpenter ended the day shooting an 80 (+9) with eight pars and one birdie. Carpenter had a three-round score of 83-77-80=240 (+27) and finished in a tie for 80th.
