Minnesota Announces 2023-24 Conference Schedule

The 'U' kicks off WCHA play on Oct. 13 at St. Thomas.
MINNEAPOLIS -- The Golden Gopher women's hockey program and the WCHA have announced the team's conference schedule for the 2023-24 campaign. The 27th season of Gopher women's hockey includes a 28-game regular-season conference slate before the Maroon and Gold continue the program's quest for its eighth national title. Minnesota's non-conference schedule will be announced at a later date.
The 'U' will look to return to the Frozen Four after making its 15th appearance last season. Coach Frost returns for his 17th season at the helm of the Gophers with a new-look roster of six incoming freshmen and only three seniors. Minnesota kicks off its conference schedule with a short road trip to St. Thomas on Oct. 13-14. Conference action continues with a road series against Ohio State (Oct. 27-28), a home-and-home series against Minnesota State (Nov. 4-5) and a road trip to Minnesota Duluth (Nov. 17-18) before Minnesota hosts its first WCHA home series of the season against Bemidji State (Dec. 1-2).
WCHA play in the first half of the regular season also includes a home-and-home series against St. Cloud State. The first matchup against the Huskies will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 17 at Ridder Arena with the second matchup on Tuesday, Dec. 5 in St. Cloud, Minn. Minnesota wraps up conference play in 2023 with a home series against Wisconsin (Dec. 8-9).
The 'U' opens the second half of the conference schedule with a home series against Ohio State (Jan. 12-13) before traveling to Bemidji to face the Beavers (Jan. 19-20). The Gophers close out January with a home-and-home series against Minnesota State (Jan. 26-27). Minnesota closes out conference play in 2023-24 with four series in the month of February. The Maroon and Gold host St. Thomas (Feb. 3-4) before facing Minnesota State in another home-and-home series (Feb. 9-10). The Gophers travel to Wisconsin (Feb. 16-17) and host Minnesota Duluth (Feb. 23-24) to wrap up the regular season.
Postseason play begins with the 2024 WCHA Conference Tournament. All eight league teams will be seeded by finish in the WCHA standings with the top four seeds each hosting best-of-three quarterfinal series (March 1-3). The four quarterfinal winners will move on to the WCHA Final Faceoff (March 8-9) at Ridder Arena.
