The 30th Season of Gopher Soccer is Here!

MINNEAPOLIS - The 30th season of Golden Gopher soccer is here, and Minnesota is set to face nine non conference opponents before kicking off Big Ten play and a chance to move onto the postseason.
The third season of the Chastain Era includes 10 home matches at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium, beginning with exhibition matches against NDSU on Monday, Aug. 7 and on Thursday, Aug. 10 against Iowa State.
The Golden Gophers' regular season begins with back-to-back home matches against Niagara on Thursday, Aug. 17 and New Hampshire on Sunday, Aug. 20. Minnesota will then travel to Wisconsin to compete at Milwaukee (Aug. 24) and Marquette (Aug. 27).
In another road match up, the Golden Gophers will face the University of Georgia Bulldogs in Athens on Thursday, Aug. 31, before returning home for a game against St. Thomas at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium (Sept. 3). Minnesota's final non-conference tilt will take place in Omaha, Neb., against Big East foe, Creighton on Friday, Sept. 8.
The Maroon and Gold kick off conference play in Ann Arbor against Michigan on Sept. 15 in its first of five conference road matches. Minnesota will also travel to Iowa (Sept. 24), Indiana (Oct. 1), Northwestern (Oct. 19) and Purdue (Oct. 22).
Minnesota will host Michigan State (Sept. 21), Wisconsin (Sept. 28), Illinois (Oct. 8), Ohio State (Oct. 12), and Nebraska (Oct. 15) at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium this fall. If Minnesota finishes in the top eight of the Big Ten standings, they will advance to the Big Ten Tournament.
Gopher soccer season tickets are scheduled to go on sale Tuesday, June 6. Single game tickets will go on sale in mid July.
