Four Gophers Named to 2022-23 WGCA All-American Scholar Team

Emma Carpenter, Grace Curran, Leah Herzog, and Isabella McCauley were each selected
The 2022-23 WGCA All-American Scholar Team was released Tuesday with 1,401 women's collegiate golfers from 378 different programs earning these honors. Representing the Maroon & Gold on the list were Emma Carpenter, Grace Curran, Leah Herzog, and Isabella McCauley.
This is a first time award for Herzog and McCauley, the third time for Curran, and the second time for Carpenter. Incoming transfer Megan Furtney also earned the honor.
To be eligible, the student athlete must excel in both the classroom and on the golf course. The criteria for each nominee include a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or greater as well as participation in 50% of the team's competitive rounds.

"This award is a recognition of the outstanding work our athletes complete in the classroom" said head coach Rhyll Brinsmead. "The WGCA Academic All-American award is one of the highest caliber academic awards one can earn. I am very proud of these four athletes for being the highest standard of a student athlete."
