USCHO Ranks Gophers Third in Preseason Poll

MINNEAPOLIS -- The University of Minnesota comes in at No. 3 in the USCHO.com Preseason Division I Women's Poll, U.S. College Hockey Online announced Monday.
The USCHO.com Poll is compiled weekly and consists of 15 voters, including coaches and women's hockey writers from across the country. USCHO.com provides in-depth coverage of college hockey.
The WCHA once again has representation at the top of the preseason rankings, as Wisconsin (No. 1) and Ohio State (No. 2) join Minnesota in the top three. Minnesota Duluth ranks No. 7 and St. Cloud State sits at No. 13 to join the Gophers among the nation's preseason top 15.
The 27th season of Gopher Women's Hockey begins on Oct. 6 when the Maroon and Gold travel to Rochester, N.Y. for a matchup with RIT. The Gophers' home opener is scheduled for Oct. 17 against St. Cloud State, broadcast on Big Ten Network. Minnesota will face off with Wisconsin at Ridder Arena on Dec. 8 and Dec. 9, and will take on Ohio State in Minneapolis on Jan. 12 and Jan. 13.
