Maroon & Gold Set to Begin the 2023 Fall Season

The Gophers will head to West Lafayette, In. for the Boilermaker Classic
MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota women's golf team is set to begin the 2023 fall season at the Boilermaker Classic in West Lafayette, Indiana. Hosted by Purdue University, the tournament will feature 15 teams from ten different conferences. The Gophers will look to continue their momentum from the 2022/23 season, where they moved up in national rankings from #101 to #57.
Round one will begin Monday, Sept. 4 with an 8:00 a.m. CT shotgun start followed immediately by round two. The final round will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 8:00 a.m. CT.

"It's with great anticipation that we commence the 2023/24 season. With some new faces in the lineup and tremendous experience and depth, we're eager to get started with 36 holes on Monday" said head coach Rhyll Brinsmead. "We've added a new event to start our fall, I think this will allow us time to fine-tune our games before the ANNIKA. Really looking forward to another Gopher golf season."
Lineup:
To start the 2023 fall season, the five Gophers in the lineup are freshman Sara Tomaszewski, sophomore Isabella McCauley, senior Hailey Loh, and graduates Emma Carpenter and Megan Furtney. Grace Curran will compete as an individual.
The Field:
Joining the Gophers at the Boilermaker Classic are Alabama, Ball State, Charlotte, Georgia Southern, Indiana, James Madison, Long Beach State, Louisville, Mercer, Notre Dame, Old Dominion, Purdue, Rutgers, and Western Kentucky.
The Course:
Competition will be held at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex on the Kampen-Cosler Course. This par-72 Pete Dye designed golf course plays 6,299 yards.
Looking Ahead:
Following the Boilermaker classic, the Maroon & Gold will head home to compete in the ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M Sept. 11-13.
