Gophers Announce 2023-24 Rowing Schedule

Season begins Oct. 7
MINNEAPOLIS - The Golden Gophers rowing head coach Alicea Strodel announced the team's schedule for the 2023-24 season, which includes eight events and a pair of scrimmages.
Minnesota begins the campaign at the 43rd Annual Head of the Mississippi Regatta Oct. 7 hosted by the Minneapolis Rowing Club right on campus.
The Maroon and Gold are back on the water Oct. 14 when it hosts Wisconsin for a scrimmage at Medicine Lake before making a return trip to battle the Badgers Nov. 4 at Lake Mendota in Madison, Wis.
The final portion of the fall schedule is set for Nov. 12 at the Rivanna Romp hosted by the Cavaliers of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va.
After an extended break, Minnesota returns to competition in Chula Vista, Calif., as it takes on Gonzaga Mar. 10 at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center. The Gophers travel all the way across the country for their next race on Mar. 30 when they face Tennessee at Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
The spring schedule continues with three-straight weekends of action, starting Apr. 6 at the Griggs Reservoir in Columbus, Ohio, with a regatta featuring Indiana, Oregon State, and host Ohio State. Minnesota then travels to Kansas City, Kan., to battle Iowa, Kansas and Kansas State at Wyandotte County Lake and Park Apr. 13.
The final tune-up before the postseason for the Gophers is slated for Apr. 19-20 as they take part in the B1G Invite in Sarasota, Fla., from Nathan Benderson Park.
With a conference title on the line May 19, Minnesota heads to Devil's Lake in Baraboo, Wis., for the 2024 Big Ten Conference Rowing Championships as it will go up against the seven other league opponents.
