Gophers Take Down Durham West 6-0 in Exhibition Matchup

MINNEAPOLIS – The No. 3 University of Minnesota women's hockey team scored six goals in their exhibition matchup with the Durham West Junior Lightning on Saturday afternoon.
Redshirt junior Abbey Murphy tallied a hat trick in just the second period, propelling the Maroon and Gold to a 6-0 victory. Recently-named captain Peyton Hemp also added two goals on the day, while senior Audrey Wethington found the back of the net in the second period for the Gophers' first goal.

"Really fun game here today," head coach Brad Frost said. "Proud of our team's effort, our structure was pretty good, and we're creating some good habits as we go. We're looking forward to continuing to build on what happened here tonight."
