Indiana holds the all-time record of 101-67 over the Gophers dating back to 1912. Minnesota faced Indiana just once last season, where the Hoosiers won, 61-57, on Jan. 25, 2023 in a depleted Gopher roster at Williams Arena.
• Minnesota and Indiana are two of four Big Ten teams coached by alums as both Ben Johnson and Mike Woodson are in the third season at their respective helm. Johnson, a guard, played for the Gophers from 2002-04 and was also later an assistant on the Gopher squad under Richard Pitino. Woodson, a guard, played for the Hoosiers from 1976-80 and was in the NBA as a player and coach following his collegiate career until he returned to Indiana. Both were also team captains.
• Minnesota is one of seven teams that has won a Big Ten road game this year. As a whole, the Big Ten is 22-8 where the home team has won its Big Ten Conference games, since Wednesday, Jan. 10. The other teams that have won league road games include: Purdue, Illinois, Northwestern, Wisconsin (twice), Indiana and Michigan.
• Minnesota has a well-balanced attack of scoring this season. The Michigan win marked the sixth time this year the Gophers had five players score in double digits and three time the past six games. Minnesota had five score in double figures in the UTSA, New Orleans, Nebraska, Ball State, Maine and Michigan wins. In addition, the Gophers had also had four players score in double figures in the Ark-Pine Bluff, FGCU, IUPUI and Maryland games. In that Terrapin win, the Gophers also had two players with eight points.
Elijah Hawkins tops the nation in assists (117) and assists per game (7.8). Hawkins had seven assists in the win at Michigan and added a double-double in the win against Maine when he had 12 points and 10 assists. It was his fourth double-digit assist game this season and seven with eight or more assists. Hawkins also had 10 points, nine assists and six steals in the Maryland win Sunday.

WHERE THEY RANK
•  Minnesota continues to show its depth winning the bench-point advantage in 14 of 15 games this year and rank 45th nationally. Minnesota's highest bench-point production came in a 62-20 advantage during Minnesota's nonconference game against New Orleans. The only game where the opponent scored more bench points was against Missouri in a 26-20 Tiger advantage. Minnesota ranks first in the Big Ten in this category and 47th in the nation.
•  The Gophers also fifth nationally in assists per game, averaging 19.8 a game. Minnesota ranks high nationally and in the Big Ten in a couple categories in addition to bench points and assists. Minnesota also ranks 31st nationally in field goal percentage (48.8).
