Murphy, Lindsay Named WCHA Players of the Month

MINNEAPOLIS - Two Gophers–Abbey Murphy and Ava Lindsay–have been named WCHA Players of the Month, the conference announced Tuesday.
Abbey Murphy is named WCHA Forward of the Month for the second consecutive month and third time in her career (Oct. 2022, Nov. 2023, Dec. 2023). The Evergreen Park, Ill. native scored 10 points, including six goals, in five games for the month. In the weekend series against Bemidji State, Murphy tallied four goals and four assists, finishing plus seven over two games. The redshirt junior also collected two goals in a win over Wisconsin on Dec. 8, eclipsing the 100-career point mark.
Freshman Ava Lindsay is named WCHA Rookie of the Month for the first time in her young career. Lindsay notched six points in five games for the month. Named WCHA Rookie of the Week on Dec. 4, Lindsay tallied back-to-back multi-point performances against Bemidji State on Dec. 1 and Dec. 2.
