Vetter Tabbed as WCHA Goaltender of the Week

MINNEAPOLIS - Junior goaltender Skylar Vetter has been named WCHA Goaltender of the Week after her performance against No. 11 UConn on Saturday. 

Vetter picked up the win in the Gophers 3-1 victory over the Huskies, collecting 23 saves in 24 chances. In 13 games played this season, Vetter has tallied 325 saves while allowing only 23 goals. 

The Lakeville, Minn. native currently holds the record for saves in a single game, set back on Oct. 27 of this season when she saved 52 shots on goal against Ohio State. In her three-year career, Vetter has amassed 1,286 saves with a 1.82 goals against average.

This is the eighth time in Vetter's career that she has been named WCHA Goaltender of the Week and first this season. 

Minnesota (16-3-1) will host No. 1 Ohio State on Friday, Jan. 12 and Saturday, Jan. 13 for a top-2 matchup with the Buckeyes. Puck drops are scheduled for 6:00 p.m. CT on Friday and 2:00 p.m. CT on Saturday.
