Star of the Week Accolades to Gophers' Clark

Sophomore posts five points at UMD
ROSEMONT, Ill. - After an impressive five-point weekend on the road, Golden Gophers' sophomore Jimmy Clark was named the Big Ten Conference Men's Hockey Second Star of the Week, it was announced Tuesday.
For the first time in his career, Clark earned a weekly award from the league after leading Minnesota with five points on a goal and four assists during a road sweep at Minnesota Duluth. He recorded the first three-point effort of his career Friday with all three points coming via assists in the first period. The Edina, Minn., native went on to score his first power-play goal with the Maroon and Gold on Saturday in a game where he also had an assist. Clark has multi-point outings in three of four games this season and his seven points are just four shy of his freshman total when he put up 11 points.
He is the 48th player from Minnesota men's hockey to earn a weekly award from the Big Ten Conference since the league was created in 2013-14. The Gophers totaled 14 weekly awards last year, four more than any program in the league, and already have two in just two weeks of competition in 2024-25.
