Gophers Wrap Up First Two Rounds of Alister Mackenzie Invitational

MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota Men's golf finished its first 36 holes of the Alister Mackenzie Invitational Monday in Fairfax, Calif.
The Maroon and Gold concluded the first 36 holes in 10th-place, with a team score of 18-under par (277-273). Pacific leads the team competition with a score of 28-under par.
Notable:
Senior Bennett Swavely leads the Gophers through the first two rounds after carding six birdies in his first 36 holes. His play through 36 holes places him tied for most pars collected, with 29. Swavely will begin the final round tied for 35th with a score of 5-under par (69-68).
Freshman Chun-Ta Wu wrapped up the first 36 holes tied for third in par-four scoring, finishing the day 6-under on those holes. Wu's 10 birdies in his first two rounds placed him one shot behind Swavely and tied for 38th (71-67).
Senior Eduardo Galdos carded eight birdies through his first two rounds. Galdos concluded the first 36 holes tied for 42nd, with a score of 3-under par (67-72).
Junior Cormac Sharpe (70-71) and freshman Jack Crousore (74-67) finished the first two rounds tied for 54th, with a score of 1-under par.
