MINNEAPOLIS – After announcing the non-conference slate last month, the full 2024-25 wrestling schedule for Minnesota can now be unveiled with the release of the Big Ten matchups, the conference announced Tuesday.
The Big Ten portion of the schedule begins on Saturday, Jan. 11 with a trip to Nebraska to face the Huskers for the seventh year in a row.Â
Sunday, Jan. 19 will bring Michigan to Maturi Pavilion for the Big Ten home opener. The teams meet for the first time since 2022 and first time in Minneapolis since 2018.Â
The following weekend puts the Gophers on the road for duals at Wisconsin on Jan. 24 and at Northwestern on Jan. 26. The Gophers have won five straight in Madison and 11 of the last 12 overall in the series with the Badgers. Against the Wildcats, Minnesota has wins in four of the previous five meetings.
Minnesota returns home on Feb. 2 to take on Rutgers in a rematch of last year's exciting dual victory in Piscataway. Sporting a 6-0 record all-time in duals against the Scarlet Knights, the Gophers will serve as hosts in the series for the first time since 2019.
The final road trip of the campaign sends Minnesota to Ohio State in the first meeting between the programs since 2022 and first in Columbus since 2018.
The Golden Gophers close out the dual season with a pair of home duals.Â
First up is a Feb. 9 matchup with Purdue, against whom Minnesota has prevailed in 14 of the last 15 matchups. The regular season wraps up on Feb. 14 when rival Iowa comes to town.
Following the Big Ten Wrestling Championships, the NCAA Championships are heading to the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, March 20-22.
Season tickets are on sale now for Gopher wrestling, while single-match tickets will be available in the near future. Streaming and televised designations will also be announced at a later date.
