Fifth-career B1G weekly award

ROSEMONT, Ill. - For the fifth time in his career, Jimmy Snuggerud was named a Big Ten Conference Men's Hockey Star of the Week, earning the top honor it was announced Tuesday. It's his fourth time being selected as the First Star of the Week.

The Chaska, Minn., native continues to pile on points during the start of league play as the junior posted multiple points in each game of a road sweep at Wisconsin over the weekend. Snuggerud scored twice in the come-from-behind win Friday, including the game winner in the third period before adding two assists Saturday. He capped the series with a backhand saucer pass to Brodie Ziemer for the overtime winner, which was the 50th assist of his career.

Snuggerud has multi-point efforts in three of four Big Ten outings this season, leading the league with six points in four games, and is now second on the team with 13 total points. He has 27 career multi-point games and is just three points shy of 100 as a Gopher.

The Maroon and Gold have had a star of the week in four of the last five weeks, landing a total of five honors as Snuggerud (Nov. 12) joins Sam Rinzel (Oct. 29), Brody Lamb (Oct. 29), Jimmy Clark (Oct. 22) and Connor Kurth (Oct. 15) as star of the week recipients.
