Gopher Softball Announces Full 2025 Schedule

MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota softball team announced its full 2025 schedule as the Golden Gophers take on 13 teams that finished the 2024 season as ranked or receiving votes teams. Minnesota's highlighted games include Missouri, Duke and Tennessee in non-conference as well as a 22-game Big Ten schedule.
The Gophers begin the season on Feb. 7 as they take on Utah as a part of the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Arizona. Along with taking on the Utes, Minnesota will also face Cal Feb. 7, Miami (OH) and Arizona State on Feb. 8 and another matchup against Utah to round out the weekend on Feb. 9.
Minnesota travels to Florida on Feb. 13-16 for the Joan Joyce Classic in Boca Raton, Fla., and hosted by Florida Atlantic University. Along with the Gophers and host FAU, also competing in the tournament is Louisville, Villanova, and North Carolina State. The Gophers will compete against Louisville twice that weekend.
Continuing the early season travel, the Maroon and Gold then heads out to California for the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic, Feb. 21-23 in Cathedral City, Calif. The Gophers will face a very competitive schedule as they take on Fresno State, Missouri, Duke, Tennessee and Long Beach State.
Following their trip to California, the Gophers return to Minneapolis to kick off their home slate when they host the Gopher Indoor Classic at U.S. Bank Stadium from Feb. 28 through March 2 at the home of the Minnesota Vikings. The 'U' will take on North Dakota State (twice), Wagner, Miami (OH) and St. Thomas.
Minnesota is back on the road for a stretch of games starting March 8. The Gophers head to Baton Rouge, La., for the LSU Round Robin, March 8-9. The Gophers take on South Alabama and LSU twice during the Round Robin and then take on McNeese State in Beaumont, Texas, on March 11.
Big Ten Conference play gets started March 13-16 as the Gophers travel to Oklahoma City for a pair of games against Michigan State and Penn State before heading back north.
Minnesota heads to Lincoln to take on Nebraska March 21-22. The 'U' also has road series against Purdue (April 4-6) and Wisconsin (April 19-21) in Big Ten play.
Jane Sage Cowles Stadium will play host to five series with two of them being non-conference contests. Minnesota opens up on campus against 2024 Big Ten regular season champions Northwestern, March 28-30. The Gophers will also host Oregon, April 11-13, while Pitt comes to town on April 25-26 followed by North Dakota on April 26-27. The Minnesota home slate concludes with a series against 2024 Big Ten tournament champions Michigan, May 2-4.
The Big Ten Tournament is scheduled for May 7-10 in West Lafayette, Ind. Purdue will host the top 12 teams in the Big Ten as they vie for the 2025 Big Ten tournament title.
