Gophers Mourn the Passing of Former Captain Dave Noack

The University of Minnesota men's basketball program mourns the loss of Golden Gopher alum David Noack. Playing for the Gophers from 1953-56, Noack passed away on December 11, 2024 at the age of 90.Â
Seeing action in 46 games from 1953-1956, Noack was a letterwinner and a former team captain for the Golden Gophers. He played in a career-best 19 games in his last season and had 39 of his 64 career points. He also added 46 career rebounds. His support continued well after his playing days. Noack also was Decade Chairman for the U of MN fundraising effort to raise money for the Williams Arena Expansion. A frequent visitor at Gopher basketball games, Dave was also in attendance at the 2024 alumni days.Â
Mass of Christian burial will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2024 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in St. Cloud, Minn. Visitation will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Wednesday at the Williams Dingmann Funeral Home in St. Cloud and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
