MINNEAPOLIS – Minnesota Golden Gopher senior Megan Van Berkom and sophomore Vivi Del Angel were both named to All-Big Ten teams on Saturday night in West Lafayette, Ind.

Megan Van Berkom earned first-team honors after swimming to three podium finishes, including one title, in all three of her individual events. After placing third in the 200 IM on Thursday, she won the 400 IM title on Friday night. On Saturday evening, she placed second in the 200 fly with a time of 1:56.97.

Vivi Del Angel was named to the second-team after she secured her second medal of the championships on Saturday night. Six other Gophers earned new personal records on the final day of competition.

Ava Goodno swam a new best in the 200 breast prelims with a time of 2:19.08. Eliot Kennedy finished ninth in the 1650 free with a new personal record of 16:11.50. In the 200 back finals, Paula Rodriguez Rivero took first in the B final with a PR of 1:54.59.

Morgan Thomas sped to a new best time of 49.09 in the 100 free before Grace Drabot secured a new PR in the 200 breast with a time of 2:13.20. Claire Reinke rounded out the Gophers who set new personal records with her new top time of 1:58.64 in the 200 fly.

Members of the Minnesota diving team will compete at the NCAA Zone Diving Regionals from March 11-13 before members of the team compete at the NCAA Championships March 20-23.
