Isabella McCauley Named Big Ten Golfer of the Week

MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota sophomore Isabella McCauley was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week on Wednesday, the Big Ten announced. McCauley will share the award with Nebraska sophomore Kelli Ann Strand. It's the second time in the 2023-2024 season McCauley's taken home the award and the third in her career.
McCauley finished the Purdue Puerto Rico Classic in a tie for sixth, shooting under par all three rounds for a final score of 69-71-70-210 (-6). McCauley shot par-or-better on 48 of 54 holes at the Grand Reserve Golf Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. She led the Gophers and tied for sixth out of a field of 90 golfers.
"Bella's play this week was beyond impressive, she continues to get better and better every time we tee it up," said Head Coach Rhyll Brinsmead. "She's a pleasure to coach and continues to represent UMN with pride and class!"
As a team, Minnesota finished eighth, posting a tournament score of 293-296-286-875 (+11).
The Gophers will be back in action for the Westbrook Invitational in Peoria, Ariz. from Feb. 25-26.
