Minnesota’s McCauley and Mesones Named to All-B1G Second Team

Madison Le Named Minnesota’s Sportsmanship Award Honoree
ROSEMONT, Ill. – Minnesota women's golfers Isabella McCauley and Luisamariana Mesones were named to the All-Big Ten Conference Second Team the league announced Wednesday. Madison Le also earned the B1G Sportsmanship Award for the Maroon and Gold.
Senior Isabella McCauley was picked an all-conference selection for a fourth time during her four-year Golden Gopher career after previously landing on the second team during her freshman, sophomore, and junior years.
The Inver Grove Heights, Minn., native earned four top-10 finishes in her senior season and was named B1G Women's Golfer of the Week honors in April. McCauley also secured a medalist finish at the Boilermaker Spring Classic earlier this month. She was one of four golfers to remain under par during the final round of the B1G Championships and holds an individual record of 650-193-24 this season. McCauley is ranked 135th nationally heading into NCAA Regionals.
Junior Luisamariana Mesones was recognized by the B1G with a postseason honor for the first time in her career after also securing B1G Women's Golfer of the Week honors in March.
The Trujillo, Peru, native grabbed a podium finish at the Valspar Augusta Invitational ending the 54-hole competition in third place. Mesones secured seven top-10 finishes in her third season as a Gopher. She averaged a team-low 71.7 scoring average this season and held a record of 691-148-28 through 11 events. Mesones is ranked No. 136 in the NCAA prior to the postseason.
