Gophers Complete Round Two of Big Ten Championships

MINNEAPOLIS - The University of Minnesota men's golf team completed the second round of the Big Ten Championships Saturday at Scioto Country Club in Columbus, Ohio.Â
The Gophers finished round two with a score of 36-over par (316), placing them in a tie for 12th with Michigan at 49-over par for the tournament.Â
Northwestern holds the top spot after 36 holes with a score of 14-over par. Michigan State's Ashton McCulloch is the top individual after the first two rounds with a score of even-par.Â
Notable:
After recording a 1-under 69 in round one, senior Ben Warian carded a 9-over 79 in his second round to place him in a tie for 18th place after 36 holes at 8-over.Â
Graduate senior Jacob Pedersen (75-77) is currently tied for 39th place with a score of 12-over par, while junior Bennett Swavely (75-80) stands in a tied for 54th with a score of 15-over par.Â
Sophomore Cormac Sharpe is tied for 64th with a score of 18-over par after the first 36 holes.Â
Graduate senior Brock Winter withdrew from the tournament due to injury, and sophomore Jack Wetzel has taken his spot. Wetzel carded an 85 in the second round.Â
