MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota sophomore standout Isabella McCauley (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) was named to the WGCA All-American Honorable Mention Team, the association announced.
This is McCauley's first WGCA All-American nomination in her two-year career with the Maroon and Gold, and it comes after a record-breaking season.
Qualifying for NCAA postseason play as an individual, McCauley reached the NCAA Championships in back-to-back seasons after coming from behind to finish tied for second at the Auburn Regional. She was the first Golden Gopher to make it to back-to-back NCAA Championships since Kate Hughes in 1987 and 1988.
McCauley closed out her stellar season tied for 86th at the national championship.
She earned three top-10 and five top-20 finishes this season. She was crowned champion at the Boilermaker Classic and was named tri-champion at the Big Ten Championship on April 21.
McCauley broke both the season and career scoring record upon the completion of her sophomore campaign. This season she averaged a team-low 72.39, breaking her freshman season scoring record. She possesses a career scoring average of 72.59 across 66 rounds played in her Golden Gopher career.
