MINNESOTA - Ben Warian finished the first second round of the NCAA Championship within the top 10 at Omni La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, Calif., on Saturday.

Warian carded his second consecutive round of an even-par 72 to place him tied for seventh place after the first 36 holes. He's one of six golfers in the field to shoot even par or better in each of the first two rounds.

Stanford's Karl Vilips is the top individual through 36 holes with a score of 7-under par, while Virginia holds the top team spot at 1-over par.

Starting on hole No. 10 for round two, Warian began his round with a par on the par-5 hole. After six more pars, he capped off his first nine holes of the day with a birdie on the par-4 17th and a bogey on the par-5 18th.

His second nine holes brought about nine straight pars to cap off his second round of the tournament.
