MINNEAPOLIS - Former University of Minnesota men's golfer Ben Warian has received a sponsor's exemption to compete in the 2024 3M Open in Blaine, Minn., the tournament announced Monday.

The 3M Open will be held July 25-28, at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minn.

Warian, a native of Stillwater, Minn., graduated from Minnesota after a historic final season in 2023-24. He led the Gophers in scoring average (70.00), rounds under par (8), score to par (-15), and low 18-hole round (63).

Named to the All-Big Ten Second Team this past season, Warian tallied 11 top-20 finishes, including medalist honors at the High Meadows Intercollegiate, where he set the program's 36-hole scoring record (128), 54-hole scoring record (198) and led the Gophers to their first tournament win since 2022.

Since graduating from Minnesota, Warian has also collected a win at the Sunnehanna Championship, as well as advanced to the semifinals of the North and South Amateur Championship earlier this summer.

Angus Flanagan is the last Gopher to earn a sponsor's exemption into the 3M Open, when he received one for the tournament in 2020.

Currently, Warian is the 49th-ranked amateur in the world, according to World Golf Amateur Rankings.
