Six Gophers Invited to USA Hockey Women’s National Festival

MINNEAPOLIS - USA Hockey announced last Thursday the athletes invited to take part in the USA Hockey Women's National Festival. The 2024 Festival will be hosted at the Olympic Center in Lake Placid, N.Y. and will run from Aug. 4-11. It will feature 75 players who are currently either playing professionally or at the collegiate level. 

Six current and former student-athletes from the University of Minnesota women's hockey program are set to participate: Taylor Heise, Peyton Hemp, Ella Huber, Kelly Pannek, Madeline Wethington, and Grace Zumwinkle. 

Coming out of the event, USA Hockey will select a roster for the U.S. Collegiate Select Team, who will face Canada in a three-game series at the Seymour-Hannah Sports and Entertainment Centre in St. Catharines, Ontario, from Aug. 14-17.
