Golden Gopher Fund to Hold Inaugural Member Appreciation Day presented by Dinkytown Athletes

Throughout the game on Sept. 14, Athletics will proudly recognize more than 9,500 Golden Gopher Fund members for their support
Minneapolis, Minn. – The Golden Gopher Fund will hold its inaugural Member Appreciation Day presented by Dinkytown Athletes at the Sept. 14 football game vs. Nevada. Throughout the game, Gopher Athletics will proudly recognize more than 9,500 Golden Gopher Fund members for their generosity supporting Gopher student-athletes. Golden Gopher Fund donors have collectively given more than $113.6 million over the past three years.
"Golden Gopher Fund contributions have a critical impact in supporting student-athlete scholarships, academic support services, sports medicine, mental health initiatives, nutrition and much more," said Director of Athletics Mark Coyle.Â
"As the overall cost of providing the best possible student-athlete experience continues to rise, Gopher Athletics continues to remain a leader in college athletics because of the support of our Golden Gopher Fund members."
Festivities kick off on Thursday, Sept. 12 with Goldy's Kids Fest at Huntington Bank Stadium. Golden Gopher Fund members can register to attend this free, carnival-style event full of kids' activities such as crafts, games and an appearance from Goldy. The event will take place from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at Huntington Bank Stadium.
Appreciation Day will take place on Saturday, Sept. 14 as Gopher Football hosts Nevada at 2:30 p.m. Golden Gopher Fund members can purchase discounted tickets to the Gophers' football game HERE. Ticket prices start at $16 per ticket, prices subject to change.
Gameday events will begin pregame in Gopher Garden with an opportunity to claim a complimentary member appreciation gift and a meet-and-greet with Gopher student-athletes Mara Braun (women's basketball), Mckenna Wucherer (volleyball), Dawson Garcia (men's basketball), Mike Mitchell Jr. (men's basketball) and Parker Fox (men's basketball). Members will be able to visit the Golden Gopher Fund booth from 12:00pm – 2:00pm. Please show your Gopher Loyalty Program membership card to claim your membership gift.
Members are also invited to come down onto the field at Huntington Bank Stadium postgame for a photo with family and friends! Be on the lookout for an email from the Golden Gopher Fund with instructions on how to claim a postgame field pass. Pass availability is limited.
The Golden Gopher Fund spearheads fundraising efforts for Gophers Athletics with gifts of all sizes directly impacting the lives of all Gopher student-athletes. Golden Gopher Fund donations  provide student-athletes the opportunity to compete in their sport at the highest level, while preparing them to be leaders in their communities after athletic careers have concluded.Â
