MINNEAPOLIS - Junior defender Sydney Morrow has been named WCHA Defender of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Morrow, in her first season in Maroon & Gold, earned the first WCHA weekly honor of her career after a stellar four point (3g-1a) start to the second half of the 2024-25 season. In Friday's 9-1 victory over Brown, the Darien, Conn. native recorded a power play goal and an assist. In Saturday's game against No. 12 Penn State, Morrow notched her second multi-goal game of the season, scoring both of Minnesota's two goals against the Nittany Lions, including her team-leading fifth power play goal of the year.

Morrow leads Gopher defenders in shots and scoring, with 65 shots and 17 total points (8g-9a) throughout the first 21 games of the season. She has also tallied five multi-point games, and ranks eighth in the nation in power play goals.
