Gophers Sweep Big Ten Diver of the Week Awards

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. – University of Minnesota divers Elna Widerstrom and Drew Bennett have both been named Big Ten Diver of the Week for the week of Nov. 11, as announced by the conference this afternoon.
Widerstrom won the award after securing one individual event win against No. 15 Wisconsin last weekend. Widerstrom tallied a 332.93 to win the 1-meter event and a 359.33 for second place in the 3-meter. This is Widerstrom's second consecutive Big Ten weekly honor, and her second honor of the 2025-26 season.
Bennett won the award after leading the Gophers with two individual event wins and sweeping all men's diving events against No. 22 Wisconsin last weekend. Bennett tallied a score of 350.25 to win the 1-meter and a score of 371.40 to win the 3-meter. This is Bennett's second Big Ten weekly honor of the season, last winning the award on Oct. 22.
Gopher swimming and diving returns next month for the Minnesota Invite. The three day meet is set to kick off from Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center on Thursday, Dec. 4.
