MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Minnesota women's hockey team climbed to No. 2 in this week's USCHO.com national poll, released Monday, Nov. 3. The Gophers had previously held the No. 3 spot for the first six weeks of the 2025-26 campaign. Minnesota received 270 points in the latest rankings, edging past Ohio State (269 points) for the second position.

Minnesota's rise comes after a dominant 5-1 victory over top-ranked Wisconsin on Friday, Oct. 31. Josefin Bouveng scored twice for her first multi-goal performance of the season, while freshman Sienna D'Alessandro netted her first career goal and the eventual game-winner early in the third period. Wisconsin went on to claim a series split with a win on Saturday.

The Gophers enter their first bye week of the season before returning to Ridder Arena for a two-game series against Bemidji State. The weekend opens with the second annual Field Trip Day, presented by Kwik Trip, on Friday, Nov. 14 at 12:00 p.m. CT, followed by a 2:00 p.m. CT puck drop on Saturday, Nov. 15. Both games will stream live on B1G+.
