Widerstrom Garners Big Ten Diver of the Week Honors

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. – University of Minnesota diver Elna Widerstrom earned her first Big Ten weekly honor of the 2025-26 season this afternoon, being named the Big Ten Diver of the Week after her efforts against the University of Iowa last weekend.
Widerstrom tallied first place finishes in both diving events against the Hawkeyes on Halloween, helping the Gophers win 13 out of 16 total events for a 190-109 victory in the conference tilt. Elna Tallied a score of 330.10 to take the 1-meter and a score of 342.40 to take the 3-meter to sweep the diving score sheets.
Minnesota is back in the water this Friday at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center for a border battle against Wisconsin. Action is currently set to begin at 5:00 PM.
