Schwartz dominant for Minnesota in shutout win against NC State

BOCA RATON, Florida --Junior Sydney Schwartz was dealing on Sunday, tossing a shutout to lead the Minnesota Golden Gophers (2-7, 0-0 B1G) past the NC State Wolfpack (5-5, 0-0 ACC) 2-0.

Schwartz (1-4) went the distance for Minnesota, giving up seven hits, walking one and striking out eight.

Offensively, the Gophers were led by Schwartz, who went 1-for-3 on the day with an RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Gophers took the lead for good in the sixth, scoring for the first and only time in the inning. Schwartz's run-scoring single highlighted a two-run inning for Minnesota.
