MINNEAPOLIS - The fourth-ranked University of Minnesota women's hockey team clinched their third win over No. 6 Minnesota Duluth this season after a 3-2 home victory on Friday night.

The 'U' moves to a 24-9-1 (18-8-1 WCHA) record heading into the final game of the season.

Sophomore Emma Kreisz got the Gophers on the board first, finding the back of the net for the seventh time this season, assisted by Ava Lindsay and Peyton Hemp, with 5:08 remaining in the opening period. The Bulldogs struck back with an Olivia Wallin score two minutes later. The score remained 1-1 heading into intermission. Minnesota successfully killed the only penalty of the period, while Minnesota Duluth led 9-6 in shots on goal.

The Gophers re-took the lead in the second period and never gave it up through the end of the game. Senior forward Ella Huber tallied her 12th score of the season, assisted by Audrey Wethington and Chloe Primerano, at the 6:40 mark in the second. Then fifth-year forward Natalie Mlynkova, seeing her first game action since Feb. 8, tallied her 14th goal of the year, assisted by Wethington and Nelli Laitinen. The Bulldogs' Olivia Wallin tallied her second goal of the game with 3:08 left in the third period, however Minnesota Duluth would fail to find the back of the net a third time.
