Hooten Earns Big Ten Event Specialist of the Week

The senior went 9.950 on floor, 9.925 on vault
MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota fifth-year senior Mya Hooten was named Big Ten Event Specialist of the Week on Tuesday, the conference Big Ten announced. It's the second time this season and 13th time in her career she's taken home the award.
Hooten earned a season-high 9.950 on the floor and went 9.925 on vault, winning titles on both events. It was her ninth floor event title in nine tries this season. She's also won four vault and two uneven bars titles.
The Woodbury, Minn., native ranks 14th nationally on vault and 11th on floor and is on pace for All-America honors in both events once again. She's earned 11 total All-American honors in her career.
The No. 15 Gophers (11-1, 8-1 B1G) complete regular season competition on Sunday, March 16 vs. LIU, Iowa and Centenary College.Â
