Battle is the first Gopher to earn the honor since 2021

AUSTIN, Texas - Junior guard Amaya Battle has been selected to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Team, as announced by the publication on Wednesday.

The 2024-25 Academic All-America® Women's Basketball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Battle was one of 15 selections that made the list, earning a spot on the third team. She's the first Gopher to earn the honor since Laura Bagwell Katalinich in 2021.

The award caps off a successful junior season for the Hopkins, Minn., native. Battle averaged 12.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game. The guard earned All-Big Ten Honorable Mention honors for the second consecutive season, while leading the Golden Gophers to win the 2025 WBIT.
