Lindenberg is the fifth Minnesota native drafted at linebacker since 2019

Former University of Minnesota linebacker Cody Lindenberg was selected in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft on Saturday. The Las Vegas Raiders took Lindenberg in the seventh round with the 222nd overall pick.

Lindenberg led Minnesota with 94 tackles last season and added five tackles for loss and one sack. He broke up three passes and recorded one interception en route to being named All-Big Ten First Team.

The Anoka, Minn., native played in 38 career games for the Gophers and made 209 tackles. He added 12.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, nine pass breakups, one interception and one forced fumble.

Lindenberg continues a recent trend of homegrown Minnesota linebackers being drafted into the NFL. He joins Minnesota natives Boye Mafe (2022), Kamal Martin (2020), Carter Coughlin (2020) and Blake Cashman (2019) as being drafted as a linebacker.
