MINNEAPOLIS - Head coach Brad Frost and the University of Minnesota women's hockey program have announced the addition of rising senior Sarah Paul ahead of the 2025-26 season.
A 5-8 forward from West Kelowna, B.C., Paul will join the Maroon & Gold from Princeton University, where in 70 career games she notched 64 points (46g-18a). Paul earned All-ECAC Second Team and Second Team All-Ivy honors after recording a career-high 36 points last season (28g-8a), leading the Tigers in goals and shots (178), and ranking third in total points. She led Division I hockey in points per game (0.90) and power play goals (10). Her 19 conference goals ranked first in the ECAC.
Paul was named ECAC Forward of the Week on Jan. 28 after racking up three goals through two games. During her freshman season, she was selected to the ECAC All-Academic Team. Paul was named to Canada's National Development Team in 2022.
Prior to her collegiate career, Paul was part of Canada's team at the 2020 U18 Women's World Championship, securing a silver medal while scoring Canada's lone goal against the United States in the final. She competed at Canada's 2021 Development Camp, and was part of Hockey Canada events including the 2019 National Women's U18 Championship, the 2019 U18 Series against the U.S., and the 2018 National Women's U18 selection camp. Paul won bronze at the 2019 Canada Winter games with British Columbia.
Paul skated at Okanagan Hockey Academy, ranking second in scoring at the academy in 2018-19 and was seventh in scoring in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL). Her Okanagan squad won the 2018 CSSHL Championship.
"Sarah is an elite goal scorer with a big shot," said Frost. "She can shoot it from distance and we are excited to see what she will bring to our program. Sarah is passionate about the game and ready for the challenge of the WCHA."
Paul joins transfers Jamie Nelson (Minnesota State) and Molly Jordan (Boston College), as well as six incoming freshmen to make up the 2025-26 Gopher class: defender Sydney Bailey (Rogers, Minn.), forward Sienna D'Alessandro (Pointe-Claire, Quebec), forward Bella Fanale (Webster, N.Y.), goaltender Layla Hemp (Chanhassen, Minn.), forward Avery Hovland (West Fargo, N.D.), and forward Tereza Plosova (Šimonovice, Czechia).
